Mike Philbin - Introversions & Dichotomies - All at Sea series...

usually these Abstract Expressionist paintings I've been doing (70+ paintings in 2016 so far) are done in threes, at least this way I can semi-control some sense of unity in collection before my mind races off on another vocab/grammer hunt in search of that elusive perfect vision. That one complete dictionary of this chosen art form. It all started with this recent painting...

It's a re-painting, and I've done several of these already, where an old painting that I'm a little dissatisfied with or at that time doesn't fit with the flow of study invested in the pieces gets re-painted. That first one of this specific set was the fourth blood painting in the recent Holy Trinity set and its repaint kinda felt like a sky, but then I did three more and a far more sinister feeling came upon me.

They are seascapes, of a sort, not pictures of the sea, more like the way it feels to be waving to shore while the wild and roaring sea batters you from all directions. These paintings are like the hopeless arm-waving gestures drowning men mime...

Mike Philbin - Introversions & Dichotomies - Threes and other Wallowings

Continuing with the painting in threes or The Holy Trinity, I wanted a homage to the glowing presence of the sun at the back of all our cloud; that ray of inspiration that keeps us going on when we might consider giving up. Initially, I had hoped that I could do all three in the style of the blue one, but (once again) the colour combinations took over and here are the results. All today's "Wallowings" retain a defined prominence of golden Ra about them, so it's not a total failure.

80 cm by 60 cm and I can't work out if these paintings are upsidedown or not, I like them either orientation.

One of the scariest and most essential features of 'creating a body of work' is that (while enjoying the game of syntax and grammar) one must never forget THE BASIC PREMISE upon which that batch of art was based. It came the time to re-examine that first (vertical or portrait) prototype piece, and see if I could use the things I'd learned in the last six months to reproduce that naivety and spontaneity I'd always hoped I could achieve with these Abstract Expressionist works.

50 cm by 50 cm and it's so refreshing for a conceptual project to bear syntactical and grammatical fruit.

Miho Hirano - delicate beauty - memories of pre-ruin

recently features by Maria Laterza in Italian art blog Tutt' Art, Miho Hirano is described as a Pop Artist... though I don't really see how that label relates to some of the most personally potent imagery this blogger has seen in quite a while.

Miho Hirano /平野実穂 is a Japanese artist living in Abiko, Chiba. She graduated from Musashino Art University. Her fantasy art is inhabited by ephemeral women who seem to be merging with their environment, the hair suspended into flowering tree limbs, bird filled bushes, and drifting seaweed. Wal Thornhill - Electric Universe - Saturn deposited the inner planets less than a few hundred thousand years ago

does this show the periodic brushing of proto-Saturn with the Sun's helisphere?

Here are the basics from Wal Thornhill's 2014 Electric Universe and proto-Saturn presentations...

Ejections of extremely-high-red-shift plasmas i.e. quasars, from the centre of the galaxy condense to form brown dwarfs with ever-decreasing red shifts as the matter condenses from the high-energy media.

Is Wal saying that MODERN MAN recorded the extreme UV inter-brown-dwarf conditions of life within the Saturnian proto-star environs of a condensing plasma conduit? Then recorded the separation of Earth, Mars and Venus from its polar chain in the proto-Saturnian system? Is the 'hockey stick' of the Global Warming paranoia merely a reflection of this separation?

I wonder if Wal Thornhill or David Talbott have a physical timeline graphic for his planet-laying proto-Saturn's arrival in or orbit of our Solar System (also showing Venus electrically affecting our skies less than four thousand years ago) that I could use as the illustration for this post rather than a picture of Wal...

FURTHER VIEWING II: and here's Wal Thornhill one year later presenting Dwardu Cardona's Order Out of Chaos i.e. that moment when the Biblical 'creation myth' might have relevance to his so-called Electric Universe. That moment when early mankind watched its former red-star proto-Saturn move away from its homeworld, allowing the stars and the sun we know today to fill the sky. It's all kinda weird, imagine the trauma of losing one's star for another.

Hunter Gatherer Societies aren't merely pre-cursors to Civilised Farming Societies

My basic premise here is so-called Hunter Gatherers didn't simply evolve into Farming Cities, but the 'hunter gatherer lifestyle' was the result of dispersal of cataclysm-ruined city peoples. This means Great Societies have come and gone, ALL THROUGH MODERN MAN'S HISTORY and there is nothing we've ever been able to do about it. You can read it in your 'holy books' time and time again, an exodus of people isn't always a political event...

People BECOME hunter-gatherers (periodically) when Nature allows it by clearing a landmass of cities, and this happens all the time. If that part of the world hadn't been 'cleansed' beforehand, the hunter-gatherers would never have had the (new) territory to move into. Such as the 500 AD western Britonic sky-attack that cleared the England for the Anglo-Saxon peoples to migrate from the east and southeast to the centre and south of Briton without much worthwhile human resistance.

We can see this by looking at the European genetic predomination of redhair and pale skin on the Atlantic coast or the Baltic area exclusively. THERE'S A MASSIVE GENETIC HOLE in the ancient data (concerning the migrations of 6000 BC) centred around modern Germany suggesting that Europe was CLEARED for the non-gingers and non-blue eyed's to move in... etc.

The sky falls regularly upon the ambitions of man.

JRubiales Artista - Spanish photorealism - Disneyworld via the Med

Free Planet's accidental quest to uncover the best of Spanish art continues with this morning's chance encounter, J Rubiales from Onteniente eastern Spain, just across from the island of Mallorca.

Rubiales is a proper photorealist in the Americana-ised sense, dealing with graffiti'd city streets and vignettes of glossy consumerism but there's a distinctive set of Mediterranean fishing boats (example above) that are a delight to view.

Those in the relevant art-study field can't help but notice Rubiales loving reference or intentional homage to the photorealist great Chuck Close, but his seemingly cynical anti-commercial twist on it playes out in his Beatles set or his Disneyworld set (examples below) sets his work above and beyond the duty of rational creators of realism that's photo-paintic.

Mike Philbin - Introversions & Dichotomies - The Holy Trinity paintings 2016

Yes, I was brought up a Catholic with the concept of The Holy Trinity aka God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, so it's no surprise (is it really?) that oftentimes I paint these Introversions and Dichotomies in threes.

In these latest ones I also used three colours per work, well 2.5 Matchpots so God the Half Ghost if we're adhering to indoctrinated conditions. They're 60 cm by 50 cm and they're titled, too.

Linda Moulton Howe - retired navy chief yeoman Tom Shepherd - EBEs UFOs and modern technology

having worked in Corporate (several mainstream video games companies in the 90's and 00's) Industry, I understand all this talk about NDAs or Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Any corporate employees indoctrinated into these cutting-edge industries are asked to sign a legal document that they will not share any details of technology or data or systems that company uses or makes or otherwise develops. They are sworn to secrecy. They can even be legally threatened when transferring from old job to new job, about their responsibilities to the former NDA they will have signed.

It's how business is done. It's the same in Finance. And religion. And the Military. Some things just aren't allowed to be discussed or understood or known. Not by you, the people who pay for everything.

In the following UFO-crash retrieval and cattle-mutilation video from 2006, Linda Moulton Howe (00:23:00) interviews retired navy chief yeoman Tom Shepherd about an incident at White Beach Naval Base in Okiawa Japan on Thanksgiving of 1976. Even if this is double-play intelligence-gaming, we're still sick of this NDA-nonsense. We (the people) are brave enough and clever enough and strong enough to HANDLE THE TRUTH. Whether there is or whether there isn't some kind of alien presence on this planet, it's time for us to be told the great big secret.

Aston Martin and Adrian Newey - AM RB 001 - oops, bit of a mangasm happened

legendary coach-builder Aston Martin, Red Bull Technologies and veteran F1 designer Adrian Newey have gone (literally) insane with this new £2-3million V12-engined hybridised reverse gear'd 1,000 bhp road car... pity it's not all electric and pity it (still) doesn't derive its power from the sun like the plants and trees. Now, that would be clever. And sexy-looking...

Athanasios Komianos - The Future Diaries of Paul Amadeus Dienach - Free Planet not due until 2396

this is kinda interesting... in 1922, Paul Amadeus Dienach, slipped into a narcoleptic coma for almost a year. When he came out of it, he started to fill a (vast) diary with the experiences he said happened to him while he was in this state. These diary entries tell the story of how Dienach spent his time in the future, to be exact the year 3906 AD. His visions of the current time are exceptionally poignant...

Rosernes Dal (The Rose Valley) was published in short runs of 1,000 copies in Greek only; first edition 1966, second edition 1979 and third edition 2001.

According to Dienach's diaries, in the year 2396 the era of Corporate War exemplified by greed, profit and private property finally comes to an end. Decided, finally, by the global populace. Three hundred and eighty years is a long time to wait. A little while longer than my blindly-optimistic forecast of our children's children for FREE PLANET to come about... talk about inertia, humanity seems truly crippled by it.

Mike Philbin - Introversions paintings - three new 50cm by 50cm smooth-smear abstracts....

so, where to go now with this conceptual Philbin-hands art style?

As soon as I finished these three latest abstracts, below, I was very happy with the results. The spontaneity, the bravery, the flow of the colour scheme through the three non-connected works. Well, connected via red, purple, blue as a range scheme idea plaything concept. But not really ever intended to be a triptych or three parts of a whole, although...

Now, having had time to sleep on it, I'm not sure where I want to take this Introversions (two border, two colour) style. In my head all night, yeah I didn't sleep well last night for some reason that might or might not be connected to a late-night soujourn down Vintage Cider lane, was the idea of a red tone upper band, an orange tone lower band, and in the middle this bright yellow tone pulling off into the upper and lower bands. I should really mock it up in Photoshop and see if it makes ANY SENSE AT ALL visually...

I have my eye on some suitably-cheap and three-for-two 80cm by 60cm stretched canvases that'll just do the job... and talking of jobs, dwindling finances suggest that I better a) start selling these paintings REAL SOON and/or b) start looking for another fucking day job. For now, here's the new art, enjoy...
